Landfill structure from motion
The October 7 flight of a Saturn V Rig with PowerShot S100 over the Bristol landfill provided a set of photos that produced three end products: an orthophoto, a 360° panorama, and a 3D model of the topography. The first two products are described here. Autodesk's online service Recap 360 analyzes overlapping photos of scenes and produces a structure from motion model of the surface in the scene. The video below describes the creation of the 3D model from 55 photos taken during the kite flight.
